Lions Mane Grow Kit

$30.00

Want to grow your own mushrooms at home? Our grow kits come ready to fruit, making it easy to set foot into the world of mycology from your own home.

Before You Begin:

  • Get a clean spray bottle and fill it with water.

  • If you are not ready to grow the mushrooms now, store the grow kit in the fridge and use within 3 months.

  • Choose location for grow kit. We recommend choosing somewhere inside where you will see it and remember to take care of it, but NOT in direct sunlight (indoor lighting is good) or where the A/C or heat hit it directly and dry it out.

Instructions:

  1. With a sharp, clean knife slice an “X” or “/ /” into the front of the bag. This is where the mushrooms will start growing from.

  2. Spritz the block 2-3x daily.

  3. Pins (baby mushrooms) should start to appear after about a week of care although it may be faster or slower depending on the environment. Lions Mane are more sensitive than oyster mushrooms, resist the urge to touch them as they’re growing to prevent premature yellowing and avoid spraying the fruiting bodies too directly, you want them to be in a humid environment, but not get soggy.

  4. 6-10 days after the initial pinning, the mushrooms should be ready to harvest. As your mushrooms grow they will develop ‘teeth’ that give a hairy appearance - we recommend harvesting when the teeth are well defined and start to take on a “shaggy” appearance, or sooner if the fruiting body starts to yellow.

  5. Store harvested mushrooms in a paper bag in the fridge and cook within a week of harvesting. Always make sure to cook mushrooms thoroughly before eating, raw mushrooms can cause digestive upset.

Our grow kits weigh about 5 lbs and produce around a pound of mushrooms under proper care.

Please Note:

  • Due to the nature of this product, we may need additional time to ensure that your grow kit is ready for shipping. Please allow up to 2 weeks for processing time.

  • The appearance of individual mushrooms may differ due to the specific environment they are grown in, therefore yours might end up looking different than the photos in this listing
